I had a great time talking Linda Darnell with Janet from her fab blog, Sister Celluloid. I love Linda, as does Janet and am is glad we did a podcast on her. Find out about her life, her very oddly timed premonition and so much more.

Part 2 Author Dan Van Neste talks about his book The Magnificent Heel. The Life And Films Of Ricardo Cortez. Ricardo IRL seemed a bit of a heel and cad..Say it aint so..

I could not find this really big shew anywhere. Finally I got t off my old computer. YAY!. I give Dan lots of credit for this book. Ricardo was incredibly private, very unliked by most who acted with him and a very bad husband. I enjoyed the book and was surprised that he was a heel. Lets be fair...not always..but.. Like I said Dan did an amazing job putting this book together without not a lot of help from Hollywood Archives. Its a fascinating story of a mystery guy, who had dirty shirts in his closet..Not IRL..He was quite the fashion plate. January The Fabulous Kay Fwancis was star of the month on TCM. I DVR'd everyone of her films. She worked with Ricardo about four times. I guess she could stand him. Mandalay was my favorite film they made together. Ricardo was a total slime ball in this film. Its a must watch

Thanks so much to the fabulous Dan. I had fun yakking wit him.

Happy New Year!!!!!

Hey everyone,

I did seven tries. This is gonna have to do it.

When talking about Ed Asner I meant midlife crisis.

Eddie Muller would look swell in jeans with Oxford shirt.

Hedy Lamarr alleged that Clark Gable during a break from filming Boomtown, came into her room and started sucking her toes.. HA!!

Be back with another True Stories Of Tinseltown next week

Love you all!!

Happy 2022!!

Grace

Merry Christmas To Everyone!!

I want to thank you all for listening to me. You are all the best.

Merry Christmas, if You don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Saturday and if for some reason you are alone, by choice or circumstances, get a pizza and EAT EVERY SLICE, or dance and sing. That always makes me feel better, unfortunately my neighbors don't appreciate my musical and dance talent..HA!

Be safe!!

Lots of love,

Grace

Part 2 Boze Hadleigh Joins Me Once Again To Talk Elvis. Put On Your Blue Suede Shoes And Hear About The Later In Life Elvis.. Lots Of Fun

Boze has been on the show I believe three times. This is Boze's 28th book.. WOWSA. It's very good and lots of info on Elvis. Its quotes people who knew him in childhood, just starting out, becoming a sensation all the way through his death. I learned a lot of things I never knew. Yes, he shot guns at TV's, and had a very young Priscilla move in with him. One thing you can never take away from Elvis is that he is a legend, and no-one could ever be like him.

The book is

Elvis Forever: Looking Back on the Legacy of the King

Boze's author's page..So many great books.

I Talk To Fabulous Christina Lane, We talk A Bit About Her Book Phantom Lady, And I AskChristina One Of The Most Tough Questions About Noirvember and Betty Shaefer..

Christina was such a great guest. I wanted to ask her a few more questions about her book Phantom Lady:Hollywood Producer..The Forgotten Woman Behind Hitchcock. Its a wonderful book and lots of juicy tidbits.

Christina was a good sport, we talked some good girls of Noir, first up Ella Raines, next Betty Shaefer. The million dollar question I asked Christina was did she think Betty would go back to the sweet and actually non stiff, just the facts ma'am, Artie Greene. See what her answer is. We talked before we started and chose a couple extra people. Christina was game. It was a lot of fun.

Question to you all, I love Gloria Grahame as a bad girl, but in the film The Big Heat, she risked her life for Glenn Ford, got scalding coffee thrown in her face. For real, she saved the day. She asked GlennFord about his wife..Don't you dare ask me about my wife. You are not even worthy to use the word wife." Debbie gave her life. AS she was dying after she saved his butt, he started telling her about his wife...What a trooper. She was a good girl.

Check out Christina's author page. I can't recommend Phantom Lady enough.

Thanks so much to all of you for getting me noticed as one of the best old Hollywood podcasts. Funny, I was just thinking about rolling up my microphone. He changed my mind. He is the darling Matthew Chernov, and the article was written in Variety.

Thanks so much to my loyal listeners. I love you all!!
